Ethiopian Airlines Returns to Madrid

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Airlines resumed four weekly passenger flight services to Madrid, Spain with a lavish ceremony on Friday.

The service to the Spanish capital brings the number of European destinations in the Ethiopian passenger flight network to 21.

Madrid is the last flight suspended due to the Covid pandemic to rejoin Ethiopian Airlines’ flight network.

“The reopening of this flight will also promote trade, diplomatic relationships, and tourism,” Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said.

The Airline has today made the first flight to Madrid for the first time since 2020. Ethiopian deploys Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to operate the flight scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Currently, the national carrier serves more than 150 passenger and cargo international destinations across five continents
