OSC’s New Digital Platform Offers Learning Resources for the Global South

ADDIS ABABA – The Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) has introduced the Greater South Learning Enrichment Resources Nexus (GreSLERN) digital platform.

The GreSLERN digital platform was unveluied on Monday in the presence of the Secretary-General of the OSC Sheikh Manssour Bin Mussallam and Ethiopia’s Innovation and Technology Minister Belete Molla, as well as Ambassadors of the OSC Member States and others.

The GreSLERN is an initiative by the OSC aimed at providing an open-source, free-of-charge, and customizable digital tool.

The OSC hopes the platform would support Member States’ educators and curriculum developers in implementing Balanced and Inclusive Education. “It will contribute to facilitating the production of interactive, engaging, and contextualized digital learning resources,” the Organisation says.

The launch of GreSLERN marks another milestone towards attaining OSC’s vision of fostering the collective exchange of ideas, research, and knowledge from academic and non-academic domains across the Global South.

It comes just a week after launching another digital platform called the Greater South Information System,

The OSC was established on 29 January 2020 by countries and organizations from across the Global South at the International Summit on Balanced and Inclusive Education held in Djibouti.
