Ethiopia Signs ‘Tax Solidarity Program’ Agreement with Poland

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has entered into an agreement with Poland to implement a three-year ”Tax Solidarity Program’.

The program would support the government of Ethiopia to strengthen the efficiency of its tax system, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The MoU was signed on Friday by State Minister of Finance Semereta Sewasew and Polish Ambassador Przemysław

Bobak, representing their respective countries..

The Program will be implemented by the Centre for Tax Solidarity as of the date of signature.

According to the Finance Ministry, it will focus on the provision of trainings, study visits, and more to Finance and Revenue Ministries’ officials in various areas.

The areas include Value Added Tax (VAT) Administration and Reform; Digitalization of Tax Administration; Excise Tax Execution and Administration; and Property Tax and Administration, among others.
