COVID-19: Ethiopia Reports Zero Deaths, 38 New Cases

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported zero daily coronavirus (COVID-19) disease related deaths on Monday.

This is for the fifth day in the month of March that the nation recorded zero fatality. The death toll remains at 7,486, says the ministry of health report.



in the same day, the nation has also registered 38 news infections and 13 recoveries, taking the confirmed cases to 469, 222 and recoveries count to 421,485, respectively.

There are now 40, 249 active Covid-19 cases nationwide. Of these, 53 of the patients are seriously sick, the report notes.

– Vaccine Drive –

Ethiopia, which started offering the vaccine to the public in March 2021, stepped up its vaccine drive with a second phase campaign launched in mid February.



More than 170, 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered nationwide on Saturday, the report indicates.

The latest figure has taken the number of doses given in the country so far close to 28.9 million.

The East African nation has also fully immunized over 24.1 million people against the virus.
