Zero Covid Deaths for Two Consecutive Days
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered zero Covid-19 deaths for the second consecutive day on Sunday, according to its ministry of health.
About 7, 466 people passed away due to the virus since the country recorded its first Covid related death on April 5, 2020.
It has also reported 36 new cases and 16 recoveries in the past twenty-four hours, says the Ministry’s report.
There are now 41,174 confirmed active cases in the country, and of which, 69 patients are severely sick, says the Ministry.
The nation registered its first Coronavirus case in March, 2021. Since then, it has confirmed 468, 966 after conducting over 4.5 million tests.
Health officials have also continued to push ahead with its national immunization campaign.
To date, the country has administered more than 26.1 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
Nearly 160,000 of the doses given have been offered in the past twenty-four hours, said the report that puts the total of fully vaccinated Ethiopians at 21.5 million.
