COVID-19: Ethiopia Records 888 New Cases, 45 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 888 more novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and 45 related deaths on Saturday, according to the Ministry of health.

In its daily Covid-19 report, the ministry says the country conducted more than 7, 000 tests in the last twenty four hours to identify the latest positive cases.

The national Covid-19 death toll has also reached 5, 675 after 45 people passed away due to the acute respiratory disease in the same period.

Currently, there are 27, 837 confirmed active cases of Covid-19 nationwide. Of which, 776 patients are severely sick, reveals the report.

As many 443 patients have recuperated from the disease in the reported period, bringing the recovery count to 314, 458.

Health officials are strongly advising the public to take the Covid-19 vaccine made available in health centers to protect themselves and their loved ones as the new case and death toll continue to rise.

Only 8, 491 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the last 24-hours, reveals today’s report.

The East African nation started inoculating its citizens on March 13, 2021. To date, it has vaccinated more than 2, 85 million people against the Coronavirus.
