Coronavirus: 371 New Infections Recorded as Severe Cases Drop

ADDIS ABABA – The number of serious Coronavirus cases has dropped below 300 as Ethiopia records 371 more infections on Saturday.

The latest positive cases, identified from 6,336 people tested in the last twenty-four hours, takes the confirmed cases tally to 464, 754, reveals a Ministry of Health report.



Additional 16 Covid-induced fatalities have also been registered in the reported period, pushing the death toll to 7, 327.

The country now has 60, 780 active cases. Of these, 295 patients are severely sick, says the report.

The serious Coronavirus cases tally decreased by at least 18 as compared to the previous day, according to the report.

It also says as many as 550 patients have recuperated from the acute respiratory disease, taking the recovery count to 396,645.



Health officials have not reported new data regarding national vaccine drive today as the vaccine tally administered remains the same as the previous day.

The vaccine drive, which started in March, 2021, offered more than 10.97 million doses of Covid vaccines nationwide. Nearly 9.4 million people are fully vaccinated, the report shows.
