Agency Schedules Second Round Grade 12 National Exam for Feb

ADDIS ABABA –  The second round of the national exam for Grade 12 students of the 2013 Ethiopian academic year will be administered in February, authorities announced.

The majority of registered students already took the university entrance exam in mid-November, 2021.

Security-related challenges, however, forced a total of 58, 936 students in three regions, not to sit for the exam.

Education authorities then pledged to hold a second round exam as soon as the circumstances allowed.

Following the improvement in security, the National Educational Assessment and Examination Agency on Saturday announced the schedule for the second round.

Decision has been made for the exam to be carried out four consecutive days beginning Feb 1, 2022, said Tefera Feyisa, deputy head of the Agency, speaking to the national broadcaster.

The exam will be given in Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Oromia regional states, he said.

According to the agency, the first session in November concluded without any major problem with 545, 381 students taking it.

All concerned persons need to play their parts to carry out the second round for a similar outcome, the deputy head said.
