Ethiopia Records 196 More Coronavirus Infections, 10 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 196 more Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases on Monday after conducting 3, 464 medical tests, Ministry of Health reported.
In its Covid-19 report today, the Ministry also confirmed the death of 10 people in the 24-hours period due to health complications related to the Covid-19.
The figure has pushed the total number of people who lost their lives, so far, to 4, 165.
Currently, at least 399 Covid-19 patients are receiving medical treatment after they became severely ill, according to health officials who put the national confirmed tally at 28, 640.
Their report also claims about 1, 190 patients have recuperated from the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.
The East African nation confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13, last year. It has, so far, tested more than 2.72mln people and dentified 271, 541 infections.
About 238, 734 of these patients have already recovered, according to today’s Covid-19 report.
The country has continued its immunisation efforts today, and vaccinated more than 8, 500 people against Covid-19.
As of Monday evening, at least 1, 813,739 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Ethiopia since the start the ongoing vaccination campaign in mid-March, 2021.
