Ethiopia Report 1460 New Covid-19 cases, 16 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported 1, 460 new cases of coronaviruson on Monday, making the tally in the country to exceed 31, 000 mark.

In its daily report, the ministry of health reported 19, 747 people have been tested in the past twenty four hours to identify the cases.

The ministry also reported 16 more deaths during the period, pushing the total coronavirus-related deaths to 544.

Health officials also said  165 patients have recovered from the disease. To date, 12, 524 patients have recovered from the Covid-19, a respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.

Currently, there are 18, 266 active cases across the country. Of these, 213 patients are in severe conditions, said the ministry.

Ethiopia confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13. To date, the country has tested 629, 210 people and confirmed 31, 336 positive cases including 544.
