COVID-19: Ethiopia Records 145 New Cases, 12 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered a total of 145 more Covid-19 cases and 12 related deaths on Sunday, data from the ministry of of health shows.
At least 3, 572 medical tests have been conducted in the past twenty-four to identify the new infections.
The Ministry’s Covid-19 report for Sunday claims twelve more people have lost their lives in the same period due to health complications linked the Covid-19.
To date, at least 4, 155 Ethiopians have died due to the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.
According to the report, there are now 29, 644 confirmed active cases in the country, where 433 Covid-19 patients have been hospitalised after they became severely ill.
In the past 24-hours, health officials have reported the recovery of 770 patients, pushing the recovery tally to 237, 544.
Their report also shows only 3, 831 people have immunized against the virus.
As of Sunday evening, more than 1.8mln doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Ethiopia where its health officials launched the vaccination campaign in March, 2021.
