Ethiopia Records 488 New COVID-19 Cases, 7 Deaths
ADDIS ABEBA – A total of 488 new positive cases of coronavirus were registered in Ethiopia on Friday, the Ministry of Health reported.
The new cases have been identified after nearly 6000 tests conducted over the past twenty-four hours, according to the Ministry’s daily Covid report.
A further 7 new deaths have been reported during the period, taking the tally since the start of the pandemic to 1, 464, the report said.
There are now 42, 610 active cases and, of these, 327 are severely ill and are under treatment in Covid-19 medical centers, reported health officials.
Health officials also noted 960 patients of COVID-19 have recovered from the respiratory disease, taking the total figure to 51, 713.
Ethiopia has so far tested over 1.47mln people for coronavirus since the first case confirmed in March, and identified 95, 789 cases.
