Ethiopia Reports 481 New Covid-19 Cases, 6 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has reported 481 more COVID-19 infections on Thursday, taking the total number of confirmed cases to more than 95, 000.

The country tested 7, 773 individuals to identify the new positive cases, the ministry of health said in its daily Covid-19 report.

Additional 6 people have also passed away due to the virus, pushing the death toll to 1, 457.

The East African nation currently has over 43, 000 active cases. Of these, 311 patients are severely ill and are hospitalized to get treatment for the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.

The report also noted that at least 867 patients of COVID-19 have recuperated, bringing the total number of recoveries, thus far, 50, 753.

Ethiopia confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13. Since then, it has reported 95, 301 infections of the virus after conducting over 1.46 million laboratory tests.
