CBE Funds 1.1 Billion Birr to Dine for Ethiopia
ADDIS ABEBA – The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia said on Friday it has donated a 1.1 billion birr support for the Dine Ethiopia project.
The project was officially launched by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in mid-August with the vision to develop three new tourist projects in three different regions.
Ahead of the breaking of ground on these projects, a national legacy resource mobilization initiative was launched to raise 3 billion Birr within two months.
The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and its staff have joined in other commercial banks on Friday in supporting the project.
“My appreciation to the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Board, President and staff members for their Birr 1.1 billion contribution to the Dine for Ethiopia initiative,” Prime Minister Abiy.
“One institution mobilizing such an amount for the development of Wenchi, Gorgora and Koysha is invaluable and in support of timely initiation and completion of the projects,” he added.
The sites are located in Gorgora in the Amhara Regional State; Wonchi in the Oromia Regional State; and Koysha in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Regional State.
