Equatorial Guinea President to Meet AU Officials in Addis  

ADDIS ABEBA – President of Equatorial Guinea, Theodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo will hold discussion with African Union officials as he continues his visit to Ethiopia today, said the ministry of Foreign affairs.

The president has arrived in Addis Abeba on Monday afternoon. Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the President was warmly welcomed by Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew and other high-level government officials.



Gedu’s office said, during his stay, the president will hold discussions with high-level government officials and representatives of the African Union. The President is also expected to visit Psori Refugee Camp in Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State.

The African Union has organized a series of events in commemoration of the 1969 OAU Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in Africa.

In February this year, the 32nd AU Summit was held in Addis Abeba under the theme: AU’s “Year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa.”
