Covid: Ethiopia Logs 30 New Cases, 0 Death, 0 Recovery
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has logged 30 new Covid-19 infections on Sunday as the recovery rate continues to drop, a ministry health report shows.
Today’s positive cases, identified from 2,352 people tested in the last twenty-four hours, have brought the confirmed tally to 471, 373.
The nation has also recorded zero recoveries for two days in a row ending the week with one of the lowest recoveries count in recent months.
Data from the ministry shows only 52 patients have recuperated from the disease this week, bringing the national recovery total to 455, 810.
The East African nation has recorded no Covid-19 induced death in the reported period as the number of days without confirmed fatality reaches five.
The national Covid-10 death toll remains at 7, 512, the report reveals.
There are now 8,049 confirmed active cases in the country. Six of them, the report says, are severely sick and are getting medical attention at health centers.
Vaccine Drive at stand still
The vaccination pace has continued to stall with the ministry no additional data regarding the vaccine drive remains the same.
Health officials in Ethiopia offered the first Covid-19 vaccine shot to the public in March, 2021. Since then, the country has administered close to 29.45mln doses of vaccine. More than 24.5 million people are also fully vaccinated against the virus.
