Ethiopia Reports 116 Covid Cases, 0 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 116 more Covid-19 cases, the highest daily total health officials reported in three months, on Saturday.

In its report yesterday evening, the Ministry of health said the nation conducted at least 5, 444 tests to confirm its highest daily total since February 18, during which 259 people tested positive for Coronavirus.

The Ministry also said the Country’s confirmed total has reached 471, 343.

About 455, 810 of them have already recovered from the disease. However, no additional recovery has been reported on Saturday.

There are now 8,019 confirmed active cases in the country. Six of them are severely sick, health officials said.

The Ministry has also reported zero confirmed COVID-19 fatality as the number of days without confirmed fatality extended to four. The national death toll currently stands at 7, 512, according to the report.

Vaccine Drive Stalls

The vaccination pace has not shown progress as the data regarding the campaign remains the same as previous three days.

Ethiopia has administered close to 29.45mln doses of the Covid-19 vaccine since authorities offered the first vaccine shot to the public in March, 2021. More than 24.5 million people are also fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
