Ethiopia Records 114 Covid Cases, 11 Recoveries

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 114 new Covid-19 cases and 11 recoveries on Sunday, a ministry of health report says.

The latest cases, identified from 5, 300 tests conducted in the last 24-hours, have brought the confirmed total to 472, 346, the report says. 

In the same period, only 11 Covid patients have recuperated from the disease, claims the report that puts the recovery tally at 455, 946.

The drop in recovery has pushed the active cases total to increase by a little of a hundred to 8, 885.

One severely sick Covid-19 patient has been discharged from hospital, the report says, as the severe cases total drops to 12.

The country has also recorded zero Covid-induced fatality in the 24-hours period.

Health officials last reported a Covid-19 fatality five days ago on May 25, 2022. Since then, the death toll has stayed at 7, 513.

Like the past few weeks, the vaccination pace also remained stagnant, the report confirms.

Health officials recently disclosed that preparations are underway to roll out the third round nationwide vaccine drive early next .

The previous two helped the nation to administer close to 29.45mln doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

More than 24.5 million people are also fully vaccinated against the coronavirus since the first vaccine shot was given in March 2021.
