Ethiopia Records 319 Coronavirus New Infections
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 319 new Coronavirus cases from nearly 7,700 tests conducted in the past twenty-four hours, reports its ministry of health on Tuesday evening.
The latest daily figure has taken the national confirmed Covid-19 cases total to 465,477.
The report also indicates a slight drop in seriously sick patients of the acute respiratory disease in East African nation.
The severe cases tally decreased by 20 to 252 in the last 24-hours, the report shows. The patients are among 59,111 confirmed active cases in Ethiopia.
A further 6 Covid-related deaths have also been recorded in the reported period, taking the national death toll 7,343.
Ethiopia’s recovery count has reached 399, 021, after as many as 576 patients recuperated from the disease the day.
Health officials are still strongly urging the public to observe the Covid protocols put in place including wearing face masks.
They are also conducting a nationwide vaccination drive which saw close to 11 million doses administered since March 13, 2021. At least 9.37 Ethiopians have been fully vaccinated, reports the ministry.
