Finance Minister Lays Cornerstone for 36-floor Ethiopian Electric Utility Headquarters

ADDIS ABABA – Finance Minister Ahmed Shide laid on Saturday a foundation stone for a construction of Ethiopian Electric Utility(EEU) headquarters in Addis Ababa.

The state-run Utility firm will invest 1.3 billion birr for the construction of the 36-floor headquarters.



Shiferaw Telila, CEO of the state-run utility firm, said the company is undertaking various reforms to fulfill the ever-expanding customers’ demand and quality service.

The construction of the new building that will rest on 4,500sqm, would create a conducive work environment for customers and staff.

The design of the new building was carried out by local firm Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation. It’s construction is scheduled to be completed in four years, according to the EEU.
