China to Build Modern Lab for Defense Force Referral Hospital

ADDIS ABABA – The Ministry of Defense and the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia have signed an agreement that would help build a modern medical laboratory for the defense force.

The medical laboratory will be located in the premises of the Defense Referral Hospital currently under construction in Bishoftu Town, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The agreement was signed between Defense Minister Abraham Belay and Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Zhao Zhiyuan on Tuesday

At the signing ceremony, the defense minister said the relationship between Ethiopia and China is strong and unbreakable.

The newly signed deal will elevate the standard of the hospital to a high level, the minister added.

On his part, Ambassador Zhiyuan pointed out that the growing bilateral relation between China and Ethiopia is based on mutual benefits.

In this regard, the ambassador said China will build the laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art medical laboratory materials and infrastructure to further cement the relations.
