Hibret Bank Inaugurates 37-storey Headquarters

ADDIS ABABA – Hibret Bank, also known as United Bank of Ethiopia, has today inaugurated its new 37-storey headquarters built in Addis Ababa’s financial district.

The bank inaugurated its landmark headquarters with high government officials including president

Sahle-work Zewdie and central bank governor Dr. Yinager Dessie in attendance.

The 23-year old private bank has joined other financial institutions that erect their headquarters in Ras Abebe Aregay Street, also known as the ‘Wall Street of Addis Abeba’.

The skyscraper, named ‘Hibir tower’, was built at a cost of 2.8 billion birr.

Laying on a 3,300sqm plot of land, the construction of the building took six year to finish and .

Established in Sept 1998, it currently has a network of at least 400 branches across the nation, serving 1.42 million customers.

Last year, the bank recorded a gross profit of more than 1.44 billion Birr.
