Ethiopia Records 15 More Deaths from COVID-19
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 15 additional deaths from COVID-19 on Thursday, a report from the ministry of health shows.
The latest death figure has taken the total number of people who died after contracting the virus to 1060.
The report also shows the East African Nation conducted 10, 605 tests of coronavirus, which causes the deadly disease, over the past twenty-four hours.
And nearly 690 people have tested positive for the COVID-19, health officials say.
Currently, there are 38, 766 active coronavirus cases across the country. Of these, 300 patients are in severe condition, according to the ministry’s report.
The daily report also shows the recovery of 420 patients of COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to over 27, 000.
Ethiopia, which confirmed its case in Mid-March, has so far conducted over 1.17 million tests – one of the highest among African nations and confirmed nearly 67,000 cases.
