Ethiopian, Canadian PMs Discuss National, Regional Matters

ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed earlier has held a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.

The discussion was “centered on current national and regional matters,” twitter Abiy after he spoke with Trudeau on Saturday afternoon.

“As always, Ethiopia appreciates a supportive and all-weather friend like Canada,” Abiy added.

This is for the second time in two months that the two leaders held a phone conversation. In mid-November, Abiy spoke with Trudeau on the heels of historic pressure from Western countries on Ethiopia.
