Two arrested after Police Uncover Nearly 7000 bullets Hidden in Car

ADDIS ABABA – Two suspects were arrested after police in Addis Ababa seized nearly 7000 Kalashnikov bullets hidden in a car.

Addis Ababa Police on Monday said its officers, supported by the national intelligence services, seized the bullets that were transported from Bahir Dar on Saturday afternoon around Addisu Gebeya.

Police searched a vehicle plate number 3-04240 Am., and found 6, 985 bullets along with four shoulder bullet belts in a hidden compartment of the car, Addis Ababa police said.

Two suspects were arrested at the scene and along the car they used to transport the bullets.

Investigation on the case is ongoing, said the Police who urged the public to continue their support to prevent illegal weapon transport and keep the city safe.
