Abiy Ahmed Re-elected as Prime Minister Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s parliament has re-elected Abiy Ahmed as the prime minister on Monday.

Members of the Parliament approved Abiy’s appointment after he was nominated by the ruling Prosperity Party, which won the majority of seats in the June 21 General Elections.



He was sworn in as Prime Minister of Ethiopia for new five-year term.

Abiy became the Prime Minister on April 2, 2018. replacing Hailemariam Desalegn, who unexpectedly resigned following civil and political unrest across the country.
