ADDIS ABABA – The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) on Friday said it has extended Voter Registration deadline for the election to be held in Harari, Somali, and SNNP Regions.
As per the election schedule, the ongoing registration was expected to be concluded on Friday, September 10, 2021.
However, the deadline has been extended by two days to allow people who are keen to vote to register, says the board in a statement.
Accordingly, voters’ registration for the three Regions will continue until Sunday, September 12, 2021.
The board plans to hold polling, in areas where the 6th general elections did not take place on June 21 due to logistical and security challenges, on September 30, 2021.
The referendum of the South Western People of Ethiopia, in the SNNP region, will also be held on the same day.
