Ethiopia Reports One COVID-19 Case, 12 Recoveries

ADDIS ABEBA – Twelve patients have recovered from COVID-19 in Ethiopia, bringing the total number of recoveries to 41.

All of the recovered cases of the deadly COVID-19, a respiratory disease caused by coronavirus, are residents of Addis Ababa, the Ministry of Health said in its daily briefing on Sunday.



At least 77 patients are currently in treatment centers across the country, the report indicates.

And this includes the county’s new case identified today after several laboratories have conducted a total of 957 tests over the past twenty-four hours.

The ministry described that patient as a 30-year-old Jigijiga city resident who has been in quarantine upon his return from neighboring Puntland.

Ethiopia reported its first case of COVID-19 on 12 March and has so far confirmed 123 cases including Three deaths.
