Ethiopia reports 73 new COVID-19 cases, 4 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has confirmed 43 more novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Tuesday, the ministry of health reported.
The country identified the latest positive cases after conducting nearly 3000 tests in the 24-hours period of the day.
A further four people have died due to the acute respiratory disease bringing the national death toll to 4, 290.
Ethiopia currently has 15, 137 active COVID-19 cases, of whom 194 are in severe condition, according to the Ministry of health.
The ministry also reported at least 460 people have recuperated from the disease, pushing the recovery tally to 255, 962.
Ethiopia identified its first coronavirus case on March 13, last year. Since then, it has confirmed 275, 391 cases after conducting over 2.83mln tests nationwide.
Ethiopia, Africa’s second most populous nation, has so far reported the largest number of Covid-19 cases in the East Africa region.
