ADDIS ABABA – All high schools across Ethiopia will be closed for a week, the Ministry of Education said on Thursday.
The decision was made after the Ministry held discussions with officials of city administrations and regions on how the sector could contribute to the success of the ongoing national campaign, it said.
Various decisions including a week-long closure of high schools starting from Monday, December 6, have been made, it announced.
“During the closure there will be widespread campaigns to collect harvested crops and help families” of people currently on duty, the Ministry said.
Its officials urged students to fulfill their national duty and participate in the process of building their country during the time-off, adding their schools will make arrangements to schedule make-up classes.
