COVID-19: Ethiopia Registers 735 More Infections, 14 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered at least 735 new coronavirus infections on Monday, bringing the confirmed cases tally in the country more than to 153, 000.
Health officials reported nearly 6, 000 medical tests have been conducted in the day to identify the latest positive cases.
Their daily COVID-19 report also shows the death of 14 people due to coronavirus complications.
The latest figure has taken the confirmed death toll to 2, 293. The first COVID-related death reported in Ethiopia on April 5, 2020.
Currently, 346 patients are in hospital beds after they become severely ill, said Health officials whose report puts the number of confirmed active cases in the country at 19, 533.
The report also indicates 347 patients have recuperated from the respiratory disease on Monday pushing the recovery tally to 134, 71.
The East African Nation identified its first coronavirus case on March 13, 2020. Since then, it has confirmed a total of 153, 541 infections after conducting nearly 2.1mln tests.
