Ethiopia Puts 10mln Birr Bounty on Former Tigray Region Leaders

ADDIS ABEBA – The Ethiopian government has offered a 10 million Birr reward to anyone who identifies and reveals the location of TPLF Leaders who are on the run.

The offer came after more than a two-week long manhunt in mountainous part of Tigray for the leaders.

Federal troops have managed to capture many of them but some, including former regional leader Debretsion Gebremichael, are still at large.

“Birr 10 million bounty announced” on Friday, said the office that coordinates the state of emergency in the northern Ethiopia, to help capture the people currently in the most wanted list of the federal police.

The reward will “be given to anyone who identifies and reveals the locations of the fugitive members of the criminal clique,” it added.

On Nov. 28, the federal government declared an end to the military operation following the fall of the city of Mekelle. Since they left the city, the whereabouts of Debretsion and co is unknown.
