Ethiopia Confirms 339 New COVID-19 Cases, 7 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Ethiopia has reached over 103, 000 after the ministry of health reported 339 more infections on Tuesday.

The new positive cases are identified from nearly 3, 778 tests conducted over the past twenty-four hours.

The ministry also reported 7 additional Covid-19 deaths, pushing the total number of people who passed away due to the virus to 1, 588.

At least 320 Covid-19 patients are seeking medical attention in the intensive care unit after falling critically ill, according to the Ministry’s report. They are among 37, 512 active cases the country has at the moment.

On the same day, at least 163 patients have recovered from the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus, according to Health officials. To date, more than 64, 200 people have regained their health after contracting the virus.

The East African nation confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13. Since then, it has tested nearly 1.67 million people for coronavirus and confirmed 103, 395 cases.
