Ethiopia Reports 982 New Coronavirus Cases, 19 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia reported 982 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday, bringing its nationwide tally to 29, 876.

The country tested 19, 769 peoples for the virus over the past twenty-four hours, according to the Ministry of Health’s daily report.

It said that 19 people had died during the reported period, taking country’s official coronavirus death toll to 528.

The health officials also said 322 patients have recovered. This has pushed the total number of recoveries to 12, 359.

currently, the report noted, there are 16, 687 active cases in the country. Of these, 217 patients are in serious conditions, it said.

To date, the East African nation has conducted 609, 463 tests since the country confirmed its first case in mid-March.
