Coronavirus: Ethiopia Reports 441 New Cases, 14 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported 441 new novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections on Saturday, bringing the nationwide tally to 362, 088.

In its daily report, its ministry of health says the country tested at least 6, 762 people in the past twenty-four hours to confirm the new positive cases.

The ministry also reports 14 more Covid-related deaths and 463 recoveries, pushing the death toll to 6, 347 and recoveries count to 332, 945.

The East African nation now has 22,794 active cases. Of these, the report indicates 528 are severely sick and are currently receiving medical attention in medical centers.

Apart from urging people to observe the health protocols put in place including wearing face masks, health officials are advising the public to protect themselves and their loved ones from the acute respiratory disease.

On Saturday, the ministry report shows as many as 22, 624 doses of the vaccine have been offered nationwide.

Ethiopia started the ongoing national vaccination drive on March 13, 2021. Since then, it has fully vaccinated a total of 3,211,211 citizens against the Coronarius.
