ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Ministry of health has reported 459 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday as the number of confirmed cases in the country exceeded 20, 000 mark.
The ministry reported the new patients after testing 7319 individuals for COVID-19, a respiratory disease caused by coronavirus, over the past twenty-four hours.
The East African nation registered 13 deaths during the reported period. The death figures has now reached 356.
The Ministry also said at least 358 patients have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the overall recoveries to 8, 598.
Currently, there are 11, 380 active cases in Ethiopia. Of these, health officials said 185 patients are in a severe condition.
Ethiopia has so far tested 459, 746 indivisuals and confirmed 20, 336 cases.
