Ethiopia Reports 588 New COVID19 Cases; 7 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 588 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to nearly 20, 000.

The Ministry of Health said the new patients identified after 8201 individuals have been tested for COVID-19, a respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.



Health officials also reported that there were 7 more deaths recorded during the period, with total fatalities now at 343.

Currently, over 11, 200 active cases there, said the ministry of health, adding that 187 of them are in serious condition.

At least 309 patients of COVID-19 have also recovered from the disease. The latest figure takes the number of recoveries so far to 8240.

The East African nation has so far conducted 452, 427 testes, and confirmed 19, 877 cases since the first case confirmed on March 13.
