Ethiopia Records 409 New Coronavirus Infections, 9 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia on Thursday reported 409 new new noble coronavirus (COVID-19) infections, bringing the tally of cases to 11,933.

The new cases have been identified from 6,898 laboratory tests conducted over the past twenty-four hours.

The Ministry of Health also reported the death of 9 more patients due to the respiratory disease. The figure has taken the country’s death toll to 197.

Meanwhile, the ministry also said 139 patients have recovered from the disease in the previous 24 hours. This has put the number of recovery to 5,645.

Ethiopia has now 6, 089 active cases. Of these, 65 patients are in severe health condition, according to the ministry’s report.

To date, the east African nation has tested 357,058 individuals for the deadly virus.
