Coronavirus: Ethiopia Logs 46 New Cases, Zero Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 46 more Covid-19 cases and zero related fatalities on Monday, a ministry of health report says.
The new cases, confirmed from over 4,100 people tested in the past twenty-four hours, bring the confirmed cases tally to 470,096.
Health officials have reported more daily new cases than recovery for two consecutive days.
Only 13 patients have recuperated from the acute respiratory disease, says the report that puts the recovery count at 453, 583.
No Covid-induced fatalities have been recorded in the reported period as the length of period with zero fatalities extends to two days. The death toll currently stands at 7, 509.
There are now 9, 002 confirmed active cases in the nation. At least 17 of them are severely sick, the report notes.
– Vaccine Drive –
Public health experts still advise people to be vigilant and to continue wearing face masks when in confined space as well as getting vaccine shots.
The two rounds of nationwide Covid-19 vaccine drive has helped the country to increase coverage significantly. The vaccination pace, however, has dropped in the past two weeks.
Not a single dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been administered on Monday, as per the data from the ministry health.
Both figures have remained unchanged for the past six days according health officials reports.
