ADDIS ABEBA – The Netherlands have agreed on a grant agreement amounting to 15.96 Million Euro (equivalent 645.26 Million ETB) on Thursday, Ministry of Finance said.
The newly found fund will finance ‘Kunzila Integrated Landscape Management and WASH (ILMWA) project’ in the East African Nation.
The agreement was signed via a virtual ceremony between Finance Minister Ahmed Shide and Thijs Woudstra, Charge’ d’ Affairs at the Embassy of the kingdom of the Netherlands to Ethiopia.
According to the grant agreement, strengthening community-based watershed management, improving agricultural productivity and livelihoods, enhancing the capacity of community-based organizations, among others.
The project will be implemented by the consortium comprises of the WLRC of Addis Ababa University and SNV, in Amhara National Regional State, says the ministry of finance.
The overall goal of the project is to provide financial and technical supports to contribute to a more prosperous and healthy population in the region.
In aims to improve the agricultural productivity for 22,000 people, and create Sustainable employment for at least 750 youth, in the process.
The project is also expected to create clean water access for 22,058 rural and 9,529 urban people.
