Briton Becomes Ethiopia’s 6th Confirmed COVID-19 Case

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopian public health institute has confirmed today a new coronavirus case in the country, raising the tally to six.

The Institute described the sixth case as “English national 59 years old female diplomat who came to Ethiopia from Dubai”.

Ethiopia has now recorded at least one case every day since the first case confirmed on Friday.

“Rumor came from the hotel she was staying at and she was self-isolated. Currently in isolation and on medical follow up.,” said Dr. Lia Tadesse, minister of health.

Out of the six cases, four of the patients are foreigners while the two are Ethiopians.

At least 992 individuals believed to have had close contact with the five confirmed COVID-19 patients are under 14 days pursue, EPHI announced today.
