Ethiopia, U.S. Discuss National Guard Partnership

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopian government and the United States discussed forging a National Guard Partnership during their military officials meeting in Washington, DC.

An Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Defence, Lemma Megerssa, is visiting the United States since Monday.

On Monday, the delegation that involves Chief of Staff of the National Defense Forces, General Adem Mohammed, and other senior military officers, took part at the Ethio-US Bilateral Defense Committee meeting held in DC.

The US side was represented by a delegation led by Major General William J. Walker, Commanding General of District of Columbia National Guard.

After the meeting, Ethiopian ambassador to the U.S. Fitsum Arega said the delegation had a “productive meeting” on the “National Guard Partnership”.
