ADDIS ABABA – The new Defense strategy has been a subject of discussion as the Commander in chief of the Ethiopian Defense Forces, Abiy Ahmed met General Officers on Sunday.
At the meeting which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, Abiy said the new defense strategy will bridge the gaps seen in the previous one.
The document is developed in line with building a modern army based on local, regional, and international perspectives, the Prime Minister said.
In a twitter post after the meeting, the PM described Sunday’s talks with the general officers of the National Defense Force as “fruitful discussions”.
Apart from the strategy, the discussion touched upon institution-building activities in the country.
