National Dialogue Commission Signs Partnership Deal with CSOs Council

ADDIS ABABA – The National Dialogue Commission has signed a partnership agreement with the Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council.

Ethiopia is gearing up for a national dialogue aimed at creating consensus on contentious national issues among all segments of the society through dialogue.

Authorities set up the Dialogue commission last February with a task to oversee the three-year dialogue process.

The commission is carrying out various activities by soliciting the necessary support from all corners of the country including state and non state actors.

It has now agreed to collaborate with Civil societies in its endeavors, with the two parties signing the partnership agreement today.

Chairperson of the Commission Prof Mesfin Araya noted that the contribution of CSOs would be immense for the successful accomplishment of the national dialogue considering their significant presence across the country..

The Director General of the Council, Henok Meles for his part expressed the council’s readiness to exert the utmost efforts to play a role for the successful conduct of the dialogue.
