Number of COVID-19 Cases in Ethiopia Reaches 114

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has confirmed three more coronaviruses (COVID-19) cases today, bringing the tally to 114.

About 745 people have been tested for COVID-19 over the past twenty-four hours. “Of these, three of them are confirmed positive for COVID-19,” the Ministry of Health said in its daily report on Tuesday.

The report described the patients as two male Ethiopians in their twenties and a 43 years old Chinese citizen who lives in Sebeta town of Oromia regional state.

The ministry said it is conducting an investigation on how the Chinese citizen with no recent travel history has come in contact with the virus.

The others, however, are a resident of Addis Ababa who has been engaged in a job with “a high risk of exposure” and a Saudi Arabia returnee who was in mandatory quarantine.

The latest figure has increased the total number of patients in treatment centers to 93.

Today’s report does not show any new recovery cases.

To date, the country has reported 114 cases of coronavirus including 16 recoveries and three deaths.
