Ethiopia Logs 23 More Covid Cases, Zero Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – The Ministry of Health on Monday said 23 persons tested positive for Coronavirus while 15 patients recovered from the disease.

The patients diagnosed with the Coronavirus in the last twenty-four hours bring Ethiopia’s confirmed total to 493, 167, according to the daily covid report.

The recovery count has also reached 471,547, said the Ministry, after 15 patients recuperated from the respiratory disease today.

Ethiopia now has 14, 0347 confirmed active cases of Covid-19.

At least 13 severely ill patients are still in the hospital where they are getting medical treatment.

No Covid-induced fatality has been recorded in the reported period, according to the latest update.

The country has not recorded a covid related death since August 14, 2022.

The infection has, however, claimed the lives of at least 7,571 Ethiopians since the first pandemic hit the nation.

The pace of the Covid-19 vaccine drive has also continued to stall with no vaccine shots given to the public in the last 24 hours, as per the report.

Ethiopia has administered 52.58 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, to date. More than 43.13 million people have also been fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

The East African nation started its Covid-19 vaccination campaign in March 2021.
