U.S. Names New Special Envoy For Horn of Africa
ADDIS ABABA – The United States has named Ambassador Mike Hammer as a new Special envoy for the Horn of Africa, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Wednesday.
Ambassador Hammer will succeed Ambassador David Satterfield, who took up a director role at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.
In a brief message on Twitter on the same day, Secretary of States Blinken said Ambassador Hammer will succeed Satterfield as Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa.
“I am grateful to Ambassador Satterfield and look forward to working with Ambassador Hammer in continuation of our diplomatic efforts in the region,” he added.
