ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed paid a two-day working visit to neighboring Kenya, beginning Friday.
High Level officials Foreign Ministry of Kenya, and Nairobi-based Ethiopian diplomats warmly welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival late Friday.
Prime Minister Abiy held a discussion on bilateral issues with the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, on Saturday.
“Always productive meeting with my brother President Uhuru Kenyatta,” said PM Abiy in brief message posted on Twitter.
“We discussed bilateral issues of peace and development as well as multilateral matters of the region,” he added.
Later that day, the two leaders made an impromptu appearance at the Museum Airshow Festival held at the newly redesigned Nairobi’s Uhuru Gardens. according to the State House of Kenya.
The airshow, organized by the Kenya Defence Forces and the Aero Club of Kenya, was held as a forerunner to the official opening of the new Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum.
Thousands of Kenyans attending the airshow were treated to scintillating aerobatics and extreme maneuvers by Kenya Air Force jets and a rich selection of corporate and civilian aircraft.
