Abiy Awards Medal of Honors to Members of Federal Security Forces

ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed bestowed the Medal of Honor on officials and members of the federal security forces on Wednesday.

The PM awarded the medals to federal level security forces and institutions their contributions to the law enforcement operations last year.

The awards were given during the Amhara regional government’s thanksgiving and recognition ceremony in Bahir Dar City.

At the ceremony, the Prime Minister Abiy stated that coming together for a common cause will allow us to overcome adversity and build long-term prosperity for the country.

During his brief stay in the regional capital, Abiy also reviewed the status of the construction of the bridge on the Abbay River, as well as the ongoing construction of a road from Bahir Dar to the new bridge. 

The bridge is 380 meters long and 43 meters broad, while the road is 4.7 kilometers long. The construction is scheduled to be finished next year and stands at 62% project progress.
