More Firms Agree to Exclusively Distribute Ethio Telecom’s Products, Services

ADDIS ABABA – Ethio Telecom has signed an exclusive business partnership agreement with seven local companies to distribute telecom products and services in Ethiopia.

Ethio telecom’s new partners are Hidase Telecom Share Company, Ethiopian Postal Service, Nared General Trading PLC, Highlight Stationery & Manufacturing Trading, Smart Digital Technologies PLC, Teleport Technologies PLC, and Alami Industrial Engineering.

As per the news signed agreements, the companies would exclusively distribute telebirr services, mobile airtime top up, new SIM card sales, SIM card replacement services, handset and devices sales on behalf of Ethio telecom.

They will also render the company’s products and services for the customers by opening their own franchise shops.

Previously, the roles of these distributors have been limited to distributing voucher cards, EVD and Yimulu services.

“However, this new partnership exclusive agreement would enable them to widely engage in a number of Ethio telecom products and services sales at national level,” said Ethio Telecom.

It will assist the company’s products and services to be more accessible to customers, it added. The latest partnership agreements would bring the total number of Ethio telecom products and services’ distributors to 68.

Launches More services

Apart from expanding its distribution network, the Telecom firm is also increasing the number of its services and products recently.
Last week, Ethio telecom launched Ashamtele customer loyalty program as well as and Telegebeya Online Sales Platform.

The customer loyalty program, Ethio Telecom says, aims to ensure better customer satisfaction and experience through which they would get incentives and rewards based on points collected using the tracks of each of voice, data/internet and SMS, telebirr services usage.

Consequently, using the accumulated points, the Asham tele loyalty program registered customers will get various incentives and rewards that will possibly enable them to buy smart mobile phones, tablets and laptops as well as to buy packages, recharge airtime and pay monthly bills, according to Ethio telecom.

The other newly launched telegebeya online sales channel which is a new and an alternative sales platform that enables customers to purchase Ethio telecom products easily from their whereabouts by using telebirr as a payment modality.

The newly launched online platform will be an option for customers to purchase ethio telecom products in addition to the company’s existing 615 point of sales and 116 franchise shops.

On this web based sales platform, different smart mobile phones, internet modems, fixed broadband terminals and other telecom services are available to customers with affordable prices.

As a first phase Telegebeya online sales start up, customers who reside in Addis Ababa can order their preferred products amongst the aforementioned devices online /www.telegebeya.ethiotelecom.et/ and receive the products in their whereabouts after as they settle the payment via telebirr.

The company says its second phase will expand the web based online sales service to several major cities of the country soon.
